    About Case Construction Equipment

Case Construction Equipment (Case CE) has one of the longest and most storied histories among all global manufacturers of construction equipment. The company’s origins date to 1842 when Jerome Case founded the Racine Threshing Machine Works Company in Racine, Wisconsin. Case CE says the resulting threshers upped threshing production by 10 times over the hand-powered methods that were widely used at the time.

    Case 586H Rough-Terrain Forklift

27 years later in 1869, Case released the first portable steam engine—a contribution Case CE says led to the birth of road construction and one that’s still on display at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. The company built the first self-propelled tractor steam engine for highway work in 1876, went public in 1907, began manufacturing a complete lineup of road construction equipment by 1912, and established an Industrial Division in 1947 as a precursor for what’s now the company’s construction division.

    Part Of The CNH Team

After becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Tenneco in 1967 and celebrating its 150th anniversary in 1992, the company was acquired by Fiat in 1999 and merged with New Holland to form CNH Global. In 2008, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers inducted Jerome Case into its Construction Equipment Hall of Fame, and in 2013, Fiat Industrial and CNH Global merged to create CNH Industrial. CNH Industrial owns about a dozen equipment and truck brands overall, also including the Case IH agriculture and New Holland construction and agriculture equipment brands.

Case CE claims to have more than 350 North American dealer locations. In addition to manufacturing and selling the Case H Series of rough-terrain forklifts, the company produces telehandlers, backhoes, compact track and skid-steer loaders, and tractor and wheel loaders, as well as compaction equipment, crawler dozers, excavators, motor graders, and a host of attachments.

Case Lifts Are Rough & Ready

CASE CE says it designs its rough-terrain forklifts for two primary objectives, lifting and moving loads. To that end, the CASE 586H and Case 588H models provide lifting speeds of 107 feet (32.6 meters) per minute, travel speeds of up to 24 mph (39 km/h), and lift capacities of 6,000 and 8,000 pounds (2,722 and 3,629 kilograms), respectively. They also feature a narrow zero-tail swing design, a push-button parking brake, eye-level AIC (Advanced Instrument Cluster), optional four-wheel drive, standard differential lock, and Tier 4 Final engines that produce up to 74 horsepower of rated power.

Case CE’s forklifts also feature the company’s Load Control stabilizing system, which Case says is an industry first; it automatically provides on-the-fly mast cushioning to reduce load shock when traveling over rough terrain. Case CE also provides customers with SiteWatch telematics, enabling businesses to manage and monitor multiple forklifts remotely.

If you’re in the market for new or used lift equipment from Case CE, LiftsToday.com typically offers listings for a wide range of Case rough-terrain forklifts and telehandlers for sale.
