    About JCB

Founded by Joseph Cyril Bamford in 1945, JCB started in a garage in Uttoxeter, located north of Birmingham, England, building agricultural tipping trailers. Today, it is one of the world’s top three construction equipment manufacturers, with 12,000 employees and 2,000 dealer locations worldwide. JCB introduced its first telehandler, the JCB 520, in 1977 and followed that up with the JCB 525 in 1979. Other major milestones for JCB include producing its 500,000th machine in 2004 and then its 1 millionth just nine years later. In 2017, the company introduced the JCB Access equipment range, which launched with nine electric scissor lift models.

    JCB’s Lift Lineup

JCB currently sells more than 300 models, including construction equipment, ag equipment, and more. The company’s lift lineup consists of rough-terrain forklifts, telehandlers, and slab scissor lifts. The manufacturer’s Yellow Series and Loadall telehandlers have lift capacities of up to 14,000 pounds (6,350 kilograms) and maximum lift heights of over 65 feet (19.8 meters), with select long-reach models that can extend their booms out to 66 feet (20 meters). JCB also makes articulated telescopic forklifts for the ag industry and offers a wide range of services, including LiveLink telematics for geofencing, machine alerts, fuel reports, machine history, and more.

JCB refers to its electric scissor lifts as “access platforms”; they have maximum load capacities of up to 1,210 lbs (550 kg), platform heights of up to just over 45 ft (13.8 m), and platform widths up to 4 ft (1.2 m). The company also offers the Teleskid series of skid steers that feature telescopic booms. Available in wheel and track loader configuration, Teleskid models have operating weights of up to 12,615 lbs (5,722 kg) and operating capacities of up to 3,695 lbs (1,676 kg).

JCB’s rough-terrain forklifts are well-suited for working on construction sites, docks, and other locations with challenging conditions. The largest model, the JCB 950, has a maximum lift capacity of 10,000 lbs (4,535 kg) and maximum lift height of up to 22 ft (6.7 m). The company also sells a range of cross-category, compact Teletruk forklifts. Introduced in 1997, Teletruk models offer maximum capacities of up to 7,700 lbs (3,493 kg) and maximum lift heights in excess of 14 ft (4.3 m).
