The Raymond Corporation is still headquartered in Greene, New York, roughly a century after George Raymond Sr. founded the company there in 1922. The inventive company began its rise in the material-handling industry with the introduction of its first hydraulic hand pallet jack in 1939. Following the release of a powered narrow-aisle lift truck in 1951, Raymond released an electric Model 700 SpaceMaker (also designed for narrow aisles) and then a very narrow-aisle (VNA) Swing-Reach truck in the 1970s.

Into The 2000s

Raymond boosted efficiency in 2001 with the introduction of the AC-powered Reach-Fork truck. A few years later, Raymond made the first hydrogen fuel cell-compatible order picker. A lithium-ion battery-powered lift truck followed in 2017. Raymond has more than 100 sales and service locations in North America and manufactures several families of electric lifts, including high-capacity reach trucks, walkie stackers, pallet jacks and hand pallet jacks, order pickers, swing reach trucks for very narrow aisles, side loaders, and tow tractors.
