JLG & Construction Robotics Join Forces To Develop Robotic & Automated Solutions
JLG recently announced a partnership with Construction Robotics, developer of such advanced construction solutions as the MULE (Material Unit Lift Enhancer) and SAM (Semi-Automated Mason) brick-laying robot, to address “repetitive construction tasks.” The goal is to reduce fatigue and the risk of injury by introducing more robotic and automated solutions.
“JLG and Construction Robotics are taking the strengths of each individual company to collaborate on progressive robotic solutions that will advance safety and productivity on tomorrow’s jobsites,” says Frank Nerenhausen, president of JLG Industries. “We are innovating for the greater good of the industries we serve.”

The first result of that partnership is the MZ100, which JLG co-developed with Construction Robotics. The MZ100 made its debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, from March 10-14, and is what JLG describes as “a smaller, lightweight version of the original MULE.” Powered by a Lithium Ion battery, the MZ100 features a self-leveling function and is compatible with JLG and SkyTrak telehandlers, which transforms it into a mobile technology (the original MULE is a stationary solution). The two companies plan to continue working together on future products and technologies.
“Collaborative initiatives such as the one with JLG result in digitally enabled, smart lift assist technologies that pave the way to the jobsite of the future,” says Scott Peters, co-founder and president of Construction Robotics. “We are excited about the launch of the MZ100 and to learning how JLG customers respond to its use on the company’s popular line of telescopic handlers.”
