The Teletruk telescopic counterbalance forklift has been an exclusive type of product for JCB since its introduction more than two decades ago. Now, the company has launched two new models that run on LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) instead of diesel.

JCB developed the new TLT 25 LPG and TLT 30 LPG Teletruks for use indoors and in environments where diesel emissions are not welcome, such as in food processing and greenhouse applications. Many warehouses and logistics facilities are also sensitive to indoor emissions, as well.

“The addition of LPG models makes the JCB (Teletruk family) a viable and desirable option for a whole new range of indoor applications and makes it a great choice for environmentally conscious customers,” said JCB North America’s material handling product manager, Rebecca Yates.

The new LPG models join the diesel-powered JCB TLT 30 and TLT 35D Teletruks in JCB’s product portfolio.

    The New LPG Editions

The newest JCB Teletruks are fairly similar except in lift capacity. The TLT 25 LPG is capable of lifting up to 5,500 pounds (roughly 2,500 kilograms), whereas the TLT 30 LPG can raise a maximum of 6,600 pounds (nearly 3,000 kilograms).

The two machines both have a Kubota engine that produces 58 horsepower (43.3 kilowatts) while achieving Tier 4 Final emissions standard compliance. Maximum lift height for both models is 13 feet, 1 inch (4 meters), and forward reach for both is 4 feet, 8 inches (1.4 meters).

Operator station options include a low cab, a canopy, or a fully glazed cab.

    A Category Of Its Own

Billed as the world's only telescopic counterbalance forklift, the Teletruk traces its origins back to 1997. The compact telehandler has enough reach and lift to load/unload a trailer from one side only.

The operator can swing a Teletruk’s carriage 111 degrees, and doesn’t have a mast obstructing the view of the work. The machine is small enough to work inside a shipping container, JCB says, and it can climb a 16 percent gradient while fully loaded.

“The Teletruk is already a game-changer for forklift operators who love the lift height, reach, and unobstructed visibility,” said Yates. “Once they start using it, they do not want anything else.”
