JLG has announced the availability of new Large Material Racks for its LRT (Large Rough Terrain) and RT (Rough Terrain) lines of scissor lifts. The racks offer a safe place to secure materials such as pipes, lumber, and drywall so that it isn’t loose and underfoot on the work platform. The racks leave room for two workers on the platform, and allow the extension deck to extend or retract normally to accommodate longer materials up to 20 feet (6.1 meters).

“Our ongoing pursuit of jobsite safety and productivity enhancements led to the development of large material racks for our rough terrain scissor lifts,” said JLG Industries’ senior product manager for scissor and vertical lifts, Rafael Nunez. “Having the ability to transport large items on these lifts not only helps reduce ground hazards, but also contributes to increased worker output.”

    Versatile & Strong

The outdoor-rated racks support a maximum load of 860 pounds (390 kilograms), although the company cautions against exceeding the maximum overall capacity of the lift with operators and tools factored in. The racks include sturdy nylon straps to keep materials in place.

The racks’ foldable cradle is suitable for transporting piping, rebar, gutters, downspouts, and various flat materials such as framing or trim. JLG also gives the racks extendable arms to help you load wide panels such as drywall or paneling.

Whatever type of work you need to perform at height—such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or construction—the new Large Material Racks can give your JLG scissor lift a safer way to bring your work materials up with you.
