New Holland Launches TH7.42 Large-Frame Telehandler For The Ag Market
The new TH7.42 Elite telehandler from New Holland is a large-frame model designed for farm use. The manufacturer says it has a new, smoother transmission, excellent visibility, and a more comfortable, ergonomic cab.
“This machine is the ultimate material handling multi-tool to provide unmatched comfort, visibility, and serviceability for our agriculture customers,” says New Holland’s product marketing leader for North America, Doran Herritt. “We know this will be a perfect fit on many of our customers’ operations, whether they need a tool for bale handling, silage handling, manure management, feeding, or many other material handling applications.”
New Holland first showed the new TH7.42 Elite at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California.
New 6x3 PowerShift
The TH7.42 Elite is the first model in New Holland’s TH Series. The 129-horsepower (96-kilowatt) machine can lift up to 9,259 pounds (4,200 kilograms) and features a 22.9-foot (7-meter) reach. Its 4.5-liter diesel engine uses AdBlue DEF fluid to meet Tier 4 emissions standards without the need for a DPF (diesel particulate filter). The motor produces “massive” torque at low RPMs, New Holland says, and it provides fast transient response.
The telehandler’s new 6x3 PowerShift transmission is built to shuttle and shift gears more smoothly. It features up to three shifting modes. A fully automatic mode facilitates road travel and long-cycle jobs, while a semi-auto mode is optimized for short-cycle jobs.
As for its lifting performance, the new TH7.42 Elite’s beefy boom suspension and robust design get the job done with minimal bounce, New Holland says. The telehandler’s Longitudinal Load Moment Indicator alerts the operator when a load is too heavy to be safely lifted.
