Used Lift Equipment Values Under Pressure From Growing Inventory
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover March data for used lift equipment on LiftsToday.com and other Sandhills platforms. On the whole, prices in the U.S. lift market are softening as inventory accumulates.
Available used cushion-tire forklifts increased by a significant 28.4% year over year uptick, while articulating boom lifts led month-over-month inventory gains with a 6.1% M/M rise. Telescopic boom lifts headlined the market segment’s decreases in auction values, down 6.2% M/M and 6.9% YOY, in addition to a 5.1% M/M slide in asking prices.
“Aerial lifts and telehandlers are tough markets right now. Inventory levels continue to climb, which is pushing prices down,” says LiftsToday Sales Manager Matt Sterup. “There’s a lot of competition in the market, so if you aren’t adjusting pricing relative to current market shifts, your inventory remains stagnant.”
