Genie Lift Tools Releases 13-Foot Platform For Use With S-65 Xtra Capacity Telescopic Boom Lift
Genie recently unveiled its new Genie Lift Tools 13-foot (4-meter) platform, which the company says is ideally suited for painting, masonry, and shipyard applications. Designed for use with any new or current Genie S-65 XC (Xtra Capacity) boom lift, the platform measures 3 ft (0.91m) wide, has a 600-pound (270-kilogram) capacity, and is rated for two occupants. Available for order via Genie’s aftermarket parts organization at gogenielift.com, the platform is already certified for CE markets and will be ANSI-certified by mid-year, Genie says.
Compatibility & Transport
Genie Product Manager Amalija Kopac says the extra-large platform reduces time spent maneuvering equipment in tight, restricted-access spaces while also providing more comfort during long, uninterrupted work. The platform is equipped with 14 lanyard anchor points, up from the eight on Genie’s 8-ft. (2.4-m) platform. The 13-footer uses the same digital load sense system as Genie’s XC boom lifts and is compatible with standard foam-filled tires. It isn’t designed for use with Genie HF (high float) or Trax boom models and lacks compatibility with bolt-on aftermarket accessories that add weight to the platform, but is compatible with such standard boom features as a control box cover, power to the platform, and Genie’s Lift Guard Contact Alarm system.
The platform’s off-center transport lock increases transportability of Genie’s S-65 XC boom, the company says. “To increase the rROIC [rental return on invested capital] on this new platform, as well as efficiency of transport from job to job, operators should keep the off-center transport lock with the equipment delivery truck and no oversized permits will be required,” Kopac says.
