Forklift Inventory Grows, Telescopic Boom Lift Values Drop In May
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover May data for used lift equipment on LiftsToday.com and other Sandhills platforms. Forklift inventory accumulated, and telescopic boom lift values fell as the lift market showed movement in both directions.
“Forklift sales picked up in the spring but have started to slow,” says LiftsToday Sales Manager Matt Sterup. “Customers are pointing to a lack of quality used inventory in the market.” Cushion-tire forklift inventory increased 6.6% month over month and 25.8% year over year, while pneumatic-tire models rose 4.8% M/M and 10.5% Y/Y.
“On the aerial lift side, rentals remain strong, but used equipment sales have slowed,” Sterup continues. “As with forklifts, we’re hearing that there’s a big gap in quality used equipment. All good used pieces are going into rental fleets as demand is high.”
