Taylor-Dunn TT-416 Tow Tractor Features Industry-First Full Front & Rear Suspension
Taylor-Dunn made operator comfort a priority on its new TT-416 stand-on tow tractor by including full front and rear suspension and adjustable tilt steering, as well as optional power steering and optional seat back wings. To increase productivity, Taylor-Dunn equipped the TT-416 with a towing capacity of up to 16,000 pounds (7,257 kilograms), a narrow 60-inch turning radius (capable of 5x5-foot aisle turning), and sealed componentry to let the tow tractor go from indoor to outdoor use.
Material Handling
Powered by a 36-volt, brushless AC motor, the TT-416 is built with Taylor-Dunn’s GT heavy-duty drive system and an all-steel frame to optimize durability. The 16,000-lb towing capacity is complemented by an optional onboard hitch release, so operators can connect or release the hitch without exiting the tow tractor. A regenerative braking system charges the battery during vehicle slowdowns to increase runtime. “We see the material handling space as an opportunity to provide a level of product, service, and support that others can’t,” explains Keith Simon, vice president and general manager of Polaris Commercial North America.
Safety Features
Taylor-Dunn designed the TT-416 with a floor presence sensor, requiring the operator to be on the vehicle during operation. To further eliminate runaway potential, the stand-on two tractor also features automatic breaking the moment the gas pedal is released. Lastly, dual emergency stop switches are standard, so the operator can quickly shut down the vehicle in case of emergency. The company improves operator visibility by including LED headlights and a sloped body for better forward visibility.
