Skyjack & Partner Guelph Nighthawks Raising Donations For Ontario Women’s Shelter
Lift manufacturer Skyjack has been a holiday fundraising supporter of the Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis shelter in Ontario for more than half a decade. This holiday season, community supporter Guelph Nighthawks joins Skyjack to help bring in more donations.
“We collaborate with GWWIC each year and go over the items that are in highest demand for their center,” says Skyjack Vice President of Marketing Malcolm Early. “There was an understandable shift this year towards gift cards and monetary donations in order to provide support in the safest and most efficient way due to COVID-19. We were happy to adapt to the request and, together with the Guelph Nighthawks, I think we’ll be able to supply the same amount of support to GWWIC as in previous years.”
Donate Online
The GWWIC center’s primary need this year is for gift cards, especially from grocery stores, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Canadian Tire. The public can donate gift cards until Monday, December 21st. There’s also a new, online fundraising site where donors can make monetary contributions until December 30th. Donations made through the link will generate a tax receipt.
“Our community partners have done an amazing job at pivoting and accommodating our needs for this year,” says GWWIC Executive Director Sly Castaldi. “While we know some people will miss giving actual gifts or supplies, the majority has done a great job at understanding that our needs have changed, and we hope that the donations at the end of the year reflect that majority.”
