JLG Introduces The 2733, Its Highest-Capacity Telehandler To Date
JLG’s highest-capacity telehandler model is now the 2733, a new machine built to handle and transport heavy, bulky goods, load and unload trucks and trailers, and help out with maintenance and repair jobs on large fleet equipment. It joins the 1644 and 1732 in JLG’s high-capacity telehandler lineup, and provides a 33-foot (10-meter) maximum lift height and 26,600-pound (12,065-kilogram) maximum lift capacity. JLG says the 2733 is well-suited for work in the wind, oil and gas, steel erection, industrial construction, and mining industries.
Greater Versatility
John Boehme, JLG senior product manager of telehandlers, says the 2733’s compatibility with various specialized attachments lets it serve multiple roles. “The 2733 can take the place of wheel loaders in certain applications where greater lift height and forward reach is desired,” he says. “Compared to a wheel loader, the 2733 offers greater versatility due to its lift height and forward reach, as well as better maneuverability due to its compact size, better travel speed, and terrainability.”
Power & Reach
A 160-horsepower (119-kilowatt) Cummins QSB4.5L Tier 4 Final engine powers the 2733 to its 15,500-lb (7,030-kg) lift capacity at full height and 8,000-lb. (3,629-kg) lift capacity at its 17.6-ft (5.36-m) maximum reach. The telehandler’s two-speed hydrostatic transmission comes with optional ride control and boom float capabilities, enhancing load stability and providing smoother operation on uneven terrain. A class-leading 14.7-ft (4.48-m) outside turning radius translates to excellent maneuverability on cramped jobsites, JLG says. Maximum travel speed is 17 mph (27 km/h).
Operation-Enhancing Options
JLG’s Load Stability Indication (LSI) system is included to help operators remain within the 2733’s longitudinal and forward load capacities. Precision-placement tasks get a boost from included precision gravity lowering and soft boom controls. JLG’s three-part SmartLoad Technology is available as an option to enhance material-handling abilities; it uses a combination of attachment recognition, LSI, and a load management indication system (LMIS). Other available options include a reverse-sensing system, multifunction display, and right-side electronic mirror system. The latter combines cameras, right-side mirrors, and an in-cab display to improve visibility on the telehandler’s right side.
