Komatsu’s New FH-Series Forklifts Designed For Heavy-Duty Loads

Komatsu says its new FH100-1, FH120-1, FH135-1, and FH160-1 forklifts borrow heavy-duty components and design expertise gained from the company’s wheel loaders, bulldozers, and excavators to better handle high-cycle and heavy-load applications. Just a few of the forklifts’ key reliability and performance features include a hydrostatic drive system, sealed wet multiple-disc brakes, and a Tier 4 Final diesel engine.

Key Specs

The new FH-series forklifts boast capacities from 22,000 to 35,000 pounds (10,000 to 16,000 kilograms), and Komatsu’s closed-center load-sensing system (CLSS) supplies the exact level of hydraulic fluid necessary, avoiding the added engine stress and increased fuel use that too much oil can cause. Featuring a hydraulic pump and motor system, the electronically controlled hydrostatic transmission increases operator control and minimizes power loss when moving heavy loads. All models feature a rated load center of 24 inches (61 centimeters) and a wheelbase of 120 in. (305 cm), and all are powered by a 100-kilowatt (134-horsepower) Komatsu SAA4D107E-3-A engine.

Komatsu indicates the new FH series is best-suited for use where heavy loads are common, such as construction sites, moving freight for logistics, and terminal transport at ports. For reliable braking in harsh conditions, the FH series feature sealed wet multiple-disc brakes. To boost efficiency in high-cycle environments, the forklifts feature Komatsu’s Komtrax wireless tracking and reporting system. Komtrax provides fleet owners with daily reports on fuel consumption, operator productivity, and running costs, while monthly records track how each machine is being used.
