Snorkel has equipped all of its mid-size telescopic boom lifts with a new jib boom and dual-envelope design that enables higher lifting capacities. The 400S, 460SJ, 600S, 660SJ and 600S, and 660SJ All-Terrain boom lifts now boast a maximum platform capacity of 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms) when working in a restricted envelope (working height and horizontal reach zones are covered in detail in each machine’s specification sheets) and 600 lbs (272 kg) in unrestricted envelopes.

    Driving Productivity

In addition to the upgraded capacity, operators now have a clearer idea about which capacity zone they are in, thanks to a visual indicator on the display. The new jib boom, which measures 5 feet, 6 inches (1.67 meters), also reduces the stowed length of the unit, making it easier to transport.

“We are very pleased to be able to give our customers more capacity and features on already popular models,” says Snorkel CEO Matthew Elvin. “We know that the increased capacity will be welcomed by our valued customers, and will play a part in delivering enhanced productivity on jobsites around the world.”

    The Flagship 660SJ All-Terrain

With a rugged four-track drive, the 660SJ All-Terrain telescopic boom lift provides traction on a wide variety of jobsites, including those with soft soil, sand, and mud. The rubber tracks are also turf-friendly, and because the 660SJ All-Terrain is equipped with a full-time oscillating axle, the boom lift offers smooth operation and low ground pressure. The 660SJ has a working height of 72 ft, 11 in. (22.2 meters) and a horizontal reach of 59 ft, 1 in. (18 m). Operators can drive the 660SJ when elevated at heights up to 66 ft, 11 in. (20.4 m), and its platform can rotate up to 150 degrees.
