Dieci Announces New Models & Updates For Samson Construction Telehandler Lineup

Italian telehandler manufacturer Dieci recently announced updates to its Dedalus, Zeus, and Samson families of construction telehandlers. Updates to the Samson lineup include the addition of three new models: The 50.8, 65.8, and 60.9 join the existing Samson 75.10 in meeting Stage V emissions standards, and come equipped with Vario System Transmissions and advanced arm functions that help operators get the job done as efficiently as possible. (The 75.10 and 65.8 are available in the U.S. market as the 17.32 and 13.28, respectively.)

Advanced Arm Functions

Established in 1962, Dieci has manufactured Samson telehandlers since 1998. The manufacturer says reducing fuel consumption and emissions and limiting the environmental impact of all its telehandlers was a top priority of its latest efforts in research and development. Dieci’s move toward compliance with Stage V emissions standards began with its Apollo, Apollo Smart, and Hercules lineups before it turned its attention to the Dedalus, Zeus, and Samson lines. Dieci expects its Stave V refresh to wrap up next year with the advent of its new Pegasus telehandler.

In addition to Stage V engines, Dieci has equipped the Samson models with a lift arm that builds in advanced Shake, Wall, and Memory functionality. The three new Samson telehandlers also all come equipped with Vario System Transmissions that provide an enhanced speed range from 0 to up to 25 mph (40 km/h) without the need to change gears.

Meet The Samsons

The 75.10 has a maximum lift height of 31.6 feet (9.65 metres), a max lift capacity of 16,530 pounds (7,500 kilograms), and an 18.6-mph (30-km/h) maximum speed. As with the 65.8, the 75.10 includes a rollover protection system and falling object protection system (ROPS and FOPS)-approved cab that’s available with an enhanced air conditioning system. The 65.8 has a 14,330-lb (6,500-kg) maximum lift capacity, and a 25.3-ft (7.7-m) maximum lift height. Its cab is equipped with a 4-in-1 joystick control that works with a load-sensing variable displacement pump to provide enhanced speed movements and the ability to execute up to four simultaneous movements.

The 50.8 and 60.9 feature a new Giugiaro Design cab that Dieci says uses materials found in the automotive and truck sectors. The 50.8 has a 10,600-lb (4,808-kg) maximum lift capacity, and a 25.3-ft lift height. The 60.9 has a 13,227-lb (6,000-kg) maximum lift capacity and a 28.2-ft (8.6-m) maximum lift height; both models have a 25-mph maximum speed.
