Snorkel Introduces S3013E Mini Electric Scissor Lift

Snorkel took the wraps off of a new 19-foot (5.8-meter) S3013E Mini battery-electric scissor lift at the American Rental Association’s recent ARA Show trade event in Orlando. The company says it developed the lift to address specific requirements in the low-level scissor lift market. The zero-emissions S3013E is designed for both indoor and outdoor work. Compared to Snorkel’s 21-ft (6.4-m) S3215E lift, the S3013E has better drive motors, the company says. It also includes new features like tamper-proof trays, tie-downs, and mitered stack edges, which provide the machine with smooth edges. The 600-pound (272-kilogram)-capacity lift also eliminates external hoses, so potential leaks aren’t a worry for customers.

    Sizing Up The Mini

Snorkel says the 2,100-lb (952-kg) S3013E falls between the 15.92-ft (4.9-m) S3010E and the S3215E models in its electric scissor lineup in terms of size and features. The S3013E stretches just 30 inches (76 centimeters) wide and stands 72.75 inches (185 cm) tall stowed. The platform size is 29.5 in. high by 52 in. (75 by 132 cm) long stowed and 29.5 in. high by 76 in. (193 cm) long when its roll-out deck extension is deployed. The platform can accommodate two workers indoors and one outdoors. The lift has a 28-mph (45-km/h) wind speed rating.

The S3013E is powered by a deep-cycle 24-volt DC battery and has a two-wheel electric drive system. It rolls on four 12.7-in. (32.3-cm) non-marking solid rubber tires, which along with the lift’s wheels, lead the class, Snorkel says. The S3013E boasts the same aluminum fixed control box that all Snorkel scissor lifts have and has safety-related features like descent and all-motion alarms and a platform overload system. The layout of the S3013E’s components, meanwhile, makes for easy maintenance and helps to reduce service time, Snorkel notes. An air line running to the platform, a flashing amber strobe light, and the Snorkel Guard safety cut-off system are among available options.
