New Market Report Shows Used Telehandlers Remain The Hottest Lift Category
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover January data for used lift equipment on LiftsToday.com and other Sandhills platforms. Demand for telehandlers continues to drive up auction values, which rose 9.2% in January as inventory dropped 2.7% for the month.
Used lift inventory has seen mixed trends recently, with some categories increasing and others decreasing. Inventory levels of used slab scissor lifts rose 3% month-over-month, while telehandlers fell 2.7%. Used cushion-tire forklifts had the largest year-over-year increase, up 31.8%.
Used rough-terrain scissor lifts saw the largest M/M increase in asking prices, up 6.8%, while cushion-tire forklifts saw asking prices decrease by 3.5% YOY. Telehandlers led auction value increases, up 9.2% M/M in January, while telescopic boom lifts had the largest YOY shift, dropping 5.8%.
“We have been hearing that telehandlers are hot lately,” says sales manager Matt Sterup. “Rentals continue to be the focus, which has created a gap in quality late-model inventory.”
