Used Lifts Market Inventory Levels Mixed, Auction Values Down In Most Categories In September
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover September data for used lift equipment on LiftsToday.com and other Sandhills platforms. Inventory levels and asking prices showed mixed trends, while auction values fell across most categories.
Auction values decreased in all categories month over month except for used telescopic boom lifts, which increased 3.5%. Auction values also fell across all categories year over year except for used pneumatic-tire forklifts, which remained stable with no change.
“Large boom lifts are difficult to find, as manufacturing is in a slowdown,” says LiftsToday Sales Manager Matt Sterup. “Most customers are pushing these toward rental fleets, which has created a premium on asking values for large booms.”
Pneumatic-tire forklifts led M/M inventory level changes, increasing 3.5%. The largest Y/Y gains occurred among cushion-tire forklifts, up 14.8%, and pneumatic-tire forklifts, up 12%.
