    About Manitou

Known for its durable material-handling equipment, Manitou has established itself as a global leader in the design and production of forklifts, telehandlers, and mobile aerial work platforms (MEWPs).

    Manitou History

In 1958, Manitou entered the material-handling equipment industry when Marcel Braud created the first all-terrain forklift in the west of France. The design inverted the layout of a farm tractor and added a lift mast and hydraulic steering.

    Manitou MLT 741-140 V+ Telehandler

The French company began to globalize in 1972 when it opened a subsidiary in Southampton, UK, which would be the first of the group’s 30 subsidiaries around the world.

Manitou continued adding to its product line throughout the 20th century, introducing telehandlers, electric aerial work platforms, and truck-mounted forklifts.

    Manitou Forklifts

Manitou forklifts can be customized for any application in the construction, warehouse, forestry, and agricultural industries. Manitou forklifts feature durable frames, high-visibility cabins, and lifting capacities as high as 15,432 pounds (7,000 kilograms). Some TMT-series models also have four-wheel drive and 4-directional steering capabilities.

    Manitou Telehandlers

With dozens of model types, Manitou telehandlers provide versatility and productivity on any jobsite. Manitou telehandlers include rough-terrain tires designed to navigate uneven terrain and rough surfaces. The company’s construction telehandlers boast lift capacities up to 12,000 lbs (5,443 kg). Combined with max lift heights up to 57 feet (17 meters), these machines can tackle even the most demanding material-handling work.

    Manitou Attachments

Manitou offers a wide variety of attachments for its telehandler and forklift lines to improve productivity across all industries. The manufacturer offers fork and fork accessories, buckets, clamps, grapples, aerial work platforms, skips, sweepers, drills, snowplows, leveling blades, and much more.
