    About Slab Scissor Lifts

Slab scissor lifts are primarily used indoors on hard surfaces, where their quiet operation and nimble maneuverability make them indispensable for overhead tasks. They’re ubiquitous for a number of jobs such as light bulb replacement, HVAC and skylight maintenance, alarm and sensor testing, remodeling and interior construction, and much more. Scissor lifts get their name from their hinged folding mechanisms reminiscent of automotive scissor jacks and kitchen shears.

    Compact But Capable

Being smaller than their rough terrain big brothers, slab scissor lifts still have ample lifting capacity in the 500- to 1200-pound (230- to 540-kilogram) ballpark. They also run closer to the ground and have a lower center of gravity than their outdoor counterparts, and can maneuver in more confined spaces with a tighter turning radius.

Find The Right Slab Scissor Lifts

Slab lifts typically have non-marking, solid rubber wheels, with some exceptions. Likewise, most of these lifts are fully electric, although some are dual fuel models with the option to run on either gasoline or propane/liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). If a slab scissor lift includes stabilizers, they’re usually discreet units (e.g. under the chassis) rather than large external outriggers.

LiftsToday.com offers an impressive selection of new and used slab scissor lifts for sale. Common manufacturers include Genie, Haulotte, JCB, JLG, MEC, Skyjack, and Snorkel, among others.
