    Komatsu Operations

Komatsu was established in the early 1920s after the Komatsu Iron Works separated from the Takeuchi Mining Company. In 1970, a major expansion effort into the United States led to the establishment of Komatsu America Corp., now a U.S. subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd. based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Komatsu America manufactures equipment for the forklift, construction, mining, compact construction, and forestry markets and claims to be the second-largest fully integrated manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment in North America. Komatsu Ltd., meanwhile, manufactures construction, mining, utilities, forestry, and industrial machinery, and is part of the Komatsu Group along with roughly 265 other companies.

    Komatsu Forklifts

Komatsu began manufacturing forklifts in 1953. In addition to an extensive dealer network that carries Komatsu forklift parts, the company offers forklift rental services and the exclusive KOMTRAX remote monitoring system, which comes standard with Komatsu’s FH Series hydrostatic transmission forklifts and enables remote machine monitoring for security, maintenance, and service purposes. KOMTRAX can also generate periodic reports to operators. In addition the FH Series, Komatsu produces a BX50 Series of cushion tire forklifts and AX50, BX50, CX50, DX50, and EX50 Series of pneumatic forklifts. Komatsu also manufactures the AE50, AM50, and BBX50 Series of electric forklifts and an FR50 Series of narrow-aisle forklifts.
