Used Telehandler Inventory Increases Leading Other Aerial Lift Equipment Categories
The November Sandhills Global market reports cover inventory, auction value, and asking value trends among used boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers in Sandhills’ U.S. marketplaces. In that market overall, inventory rose 3.58% month over month and 19.58% year over year, continuing an upward trend. Used telehandlers led the way with the highest percentage of M/M and YOY increases compared to the other categories, followed by used scissor lifts.

Looking at market data specifically for telehandlers, Sterup explains, “This chart gives us a 30,000-foot view. Some of the key things I look at include inventory year over year. We’re up roughly 41% year over year in telehandler inventory, which is a major spike in equipment. I don’t know if I've seen that big of an inventory increase from one year to the next on any specific category like I’ve seen here on the telehandler side. And we’re up roughly 6.4% over the last month. Again, big spikes in inventory, and what’s that going to do to our pricing? We can see on the auction side we’re down roughly 13% year over year, and asking values are down 13% year over year as well. Big spikes in inventory are going to continue to drive pricing down.”
