Used Forklifts More Plentiful This Year, Except For Late-Model Units
The new Sandhills Global market report covering December data for used forklifts on LiftsToday.com and other Sandhills platforms shows a strong year-over-year increase in inventory with a modest month-to-month decline in asking and auction prices.
Forklift inventory surged 21.75% year-over-year, and is showing a strong, upward YOY trend. However, on a month-to-month basis, inventory levels dipped 1.44%. Used pneumatic-tire forklifts were the driving factor for both trends.
“We continue to see inventory levels rise for a lot of customers, but good quality late-model units are being pushed into rental fleets,” according to Sales Manager Matt Sterup. “As a result, late-model equipment is becoming more scarce.”
